“ I was extremely lucky to have Jeff as my tutor for Organic Chemistry I this past semester. Long story short, Orgo was a nightmare the first time around so I had to retake it. I decided to get a tutor and eventually reached out to Jeff. My first impression was that Jeff was very professional, yet laid-back and easy to talk to. He was very eager to help me reach my goals and showed a willingness to do so however he could. I can't say much more about our tutoring sessions other than that they were way better than I could have hoped. Jeff utilizes very direct and easy to understand methods for teaching the fundamentals of Orgo, and with his methods I found Orgo to be actually somewhat enjoyable. He took my least favorite course and made it my favorite -- I can't ask for much more than that. Further, the abilities I found in myself after working with Jeff were truly surprising. I went from failing every exam the last semester to getting some of the highest grades in the class. Beyond his abilities as a tutor, Jeff is honestly just a cool dude. Our sessions felt extremely casual, like hanging out with a friend, and because the sessions were so relaxed, I feel that I learned concepts with ease. I'm happy to say that Jeff felt like a good friend by the end of my time with him. I really don't write reviews for things unless I've found the experience to be very bad or very good. My experience with Jeff was very, very good. Do yourself a favor and reach out -- I can't emphasize this enough. I am very thankful that I did.”

“The first time I took organic chemistry I ended up withdrawing from the course halfway through the semester. Three years later I decided to try my hand at organic chemistry again. Except this time, I was determined to exhaust every available resource to ensure my success. I ended up getting an A in organic chemistry. The main difference between my first attempt at orgo and my second attempt was that the second time around I had Jeff to help me. If it weren’t for Jeff’s exceptional knowledge, tutoring ability, and patience, I would not have succeeded in this course. Jeff is by far the best tutor I have ever had. Because of Jeff I learned to love organic chemistry. His ability to inspire confidence in his students is unmatched. I cannot recommend Jeff highly enough.”

“Think of a TA who knows the professor’s mind like the back of his/her hand. Now think of that TA being available to answer to all your personal academic questions, not just the class. That fictional TA is Jeff. I enlisted Jeff’s help a third of the way into my organic chemistry I course. At that point, despite being with another tutor, organic chemistry still didn’t make sense. And I doubted that it ever would. But that all changed when Jeff entered the picture. Jeff is incredibly good at breaking down hard concepts into simpler terms. He’s especially proficient with his metaphors. Not only is he good at teaching, his relaxed and kind attitude made me enjoy organic chemistry. Organic chemistry became one of my favorite subjects, despite the difficulty of the subject. In the end, with his help I managed to not only pass orgo but also thrive in the class. “Jeffrey tutored me during my 5 weeks intensive orgochem2 class at CUNY Hunter College--he was a great teacher and was amazingly supportive and kind throughout the course. Jeffrey was able to explain concepts really well and often used great analogies that helped me truly understand (rather than purely memorize) the reactions/mechanisms etc.; this ultimately decreased the amount I had to memorize (a huge time saver!), and because I was able to think through the processes logically, allowed for me to apply this knowledge to solve complex problems on test day. He was also very helpful outside of tutoring sessions as he always promptly answered orgochem questions succinctly via text (photos of hand drawn mechanism highlighting key points) or phone call. I highly recommend him to anyone struggling through orgochem material or just needing a confidence boost in this tough course!”

“I will be taking Organic Chemistry I this upcoming fall. I reached out to Jeffrey in order to obtain some basic background knowledge about the subject. After 9 lessons, I feel more than confident with the material! Jeffrey presented the topics in a way that made them FUN -- a word I never thought I would use to describe Organic Chemistry. Our lessons would fly by! He definitely knows what he's doing! Aside from being a great teacher, Jeffrey made sure that I truly understood the concepts and mechanisms by asking plenty of "why" and "how" questions. Being on that boat, I took the liberty of contacting Jeff to schedule periodic meeting throughout the course of my third semester.
